I think your are mistaking boost with NOS

Boost is when your car has a turbocharger, basically it forces air into your engine which results in more power! The thing is the turbo only "kicks in" at a certain rpm because it needs time to "spool" or in simpler terms get the little "wheel" spinning fast enough to blow air into the motor.

There are some risks to a turbocharged car/NOS but there are other members on here much more qualified to explain them to you.

frelly is right, you are thinking of nos and not a turbo. the risks of a turbo on the the car is blowing your engine. if you put the boost up too high then you will blow your engine. if you dont have a good tune, then you will blow your engine and screw up your turbo. before putting one on i would recommend you research a little more. start by reading this:

you may boost any car that you want. the difference between a supercharger and turbo is that with a supercharger, you can only go up to like 10 psi i think. but with a turbo you can go up to as much boost as you want.

the main difference between turbo and superchargers are....

superchargers run off of your engine turning. A pully and belt is connected to the charger and the other side to your engine. Engine starts, turns the supercharger, bam, boost. You always have boost if your cars running.

Turbos spin and boost off of exhaust gases passing out of the motor. The more throttle, more exhaust. More exhaust, faster spinning, faster spinning, more boost.

these are pretty vaugue discriptions, but i hope it helps

My supercharger vs turbocharger post is not 5 posts down from this one.

And I admittedly laughed out loud while reading your first post. Come for a ride in my car and find out why boost is so awesome.

Kwin, read that entire article that aryiman98civic posted. That will save you some time in typing out basic questions.
