I heard the DSM injectors make your car idle bad unless you have something to tune the car with. Can i get by with an apexi A/F controller? And how would the car do with just an apexi A/F controller, and no crome and no tune.

On 4-6# with the xspower t3, you could get away with stock injectors, stock fuel pump, and an fmu in conjunction with retarding timing and higher octane gas. But, that's a nice combination for a blown motor. I'd go with a crome basemap at the minimum, you already have the obd1 ecu! I am using the same turbo, works pretty darn well.

yea arust is right. Besides, what you would pay for an AFC hack is less than what youd pay for a basemap from crome

So that obd1 chipped with crome, that i can buy off phearable, comes with a basemap that will allow me to atleast drive the car around untuned, without having to worry? If that's ok id probably drive it around untuned and just off the basemap for a couple months?

sigh....dont be a dumbass. Get it tuned... at the very least, get a street tune(usually 200-250) you CAN drive it untuned but itll be really bad for the car...just do it right

Why wouldn't you get it tuned? If your gonna turbo it spend the money and get it tuned or don't turbo it.

and on top of that the Apexi piggyback i don't think comes with a basemap. I think i was talking to LarsonCivicSI, said his A/F ratio on his basemap from Phearable was so perfect the tuner barely had to touch it, now i shouldn't be telling you that because i don't want you to get the wrong idea about driving untuned, but yes you can usually drive to the tuner on a basemap, any more than that is pushing it. Now if you got the AEM F/IC with it's software, a wideband and a laptop, and you RESEARCH YOUR *** OFF you can learn to street tune yourself, or just find a dyno and tune it on that yourself. That'll save you a little money.
