In southern california there are checkpoints that cops set up with emissions dynos. Like a dui checkpoint but looking for carb unfriendly cars and hot parts. Anybody else outside of this area have to deal with that bulls**t?

I just moved back here from napa. Apparently they do it in riverside, vista, and san diego a lot.

Interesting. How do they target cars? Are these emissions tests only or do they do a full visual?

 

im guessing that if they see a car with just about any aftermarket performance parts or they hear a bov they will pull you over but that would just be my guess

 

can't imagine that. I live in Upper Michigan, where sometimes they'll give you sh*t abotu a loud exhaust , but other than that anythign goes. THeres lots of red necks around here running stirahgt pipes on their lifted trucks [&:]

 

ya just get used to it... price ya have to pay/deal with it when ya mod your car!

 

Target whatever cars they feel like. Usually ricey cars and older cars that run like sh*t. Visuals too.

Thats just kind of the price of this hobby. You either have to deal with it or keep your car stock or buy an American car.
