Default D16 turbo kit

Hey I was wondering if this looked like a good kit to yall. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/D15-D...QQcmdZViewItem if not what would you recommend? i want good quality parts and a complete setup but i don't want to spend 3k+ on a edelbrock or greddy kit.

Default no

The manifold will crack and the turbo will self combust in a spout of oil, heat, and other bad things.

If you want to go turbo. 14b + HF manifold. Find a guy who can weld, fab up a down pipe and don't bother intercooling it. You can do this for about $500, run 6psi, and be a bit faster. Would last much longer than the egay ****.

However, if you want to make big numbers and have a fast reliable car... save your pennies and do some research because you'll be spending quite a bit on both the turbo and the clutch you're going to fry, the injectors that won't supply enough fuel, an extra high flow fuel pump, a new ECU, and tires that you might not shred when you shift.

well its not an ssauto kit and the manifold looks to be cast.......shouldnt have to worry about it cracking. the turbo does look to be the same type sold with the ssauto kits and they have been known to leak and fall apart. but they are really a hit and miss sorta thing since ive seen a couple actually hold up well. as stated above you can build a kit for cheaper. but one thing i take into consideration, do you really want a ghetto looking set up. if not get on that auction. if looks doesnt matter and your just after performance then peice a set up together. what exactly are your hp goals? what kind of power band are you looking for? these are just a few things to consider before even thinking of buying a set up or peicing one together.

i'm wanting to get to 200HP or close to it, and something that later on if i want to build my bottom end i can upgrade for more power rather easy. i'm looking for a system that kicks in rather low on the powerband low to mid. I am not too worried about looks really. but can you really piece together a good system for $900 or less?

That looks cheesy to me. Just build your own kit.

Id shy away from that kit, the parts are not quality. Go brand names or custom, meaning mix brand names. You get what u pay for.
