Pete, Forty and Soviet, what is so bad about that kit? Just a simple question so i know what to look out for....

EDIT: And what should he do to his tranny (other than swap it to a manual)? Clutch, Flywheel, etc.?

Weak welds, cheap materials, etc..

A new clutch and flywheel is a good idea on a boosted car. How much power you're running, and what the car's primary purpose are going to be the deciding factors as to what type of clutch you want. ie, if you're driving your car daily, you do NOT want a friggin stage 3 in there

Ebay kits use poor steel that heats up dramatically more than the more expensive steels, they also have poor welds that like to crack, their turbo's have poor seals that tend to blow, and I've seen a few of the turbo shaftes destroy a housing. Sure, they're cheap, but when your engine sucks in a few fins it will not be as cheap!

As far as a tranny, LSD and a performance clutch.

I havea d16y7 turbo. When i over rev it at 3000rpm it releases pressure automatically through the blow of valve. after i reach 3000rpm the car keeps jerking and releasing pressure. i tried changing the boost withthe boost controller, but it does not go over than 8psi. Is it because the ecu is programmed to run a 8psi?Somebody please help
