Reborn: I have not heard too much promissing things about the centrifugal SC. Only really good a high rpm or thats where it make max boost something like that i heard and cost mucho $$$.

SOV: They really don't make a lot of power and the expense of them is unreal for what you're getting
They are insane for boost when put on V8's, one of the best actually. But for a 4 cylinder car its a waste. They have instant boost due to being belt driven, but only partial. Most power and boost is made in the top end. thats why itys hard to find a centrifugal blower for a civic, not worth it really.

Something that reminds me of the planes that i fly.
What do you fly?? Im an Air Traffic Controller and im going through ground school to get my private. Cant wait.

Does it whine the same or sounds more like a turbo.
Centrifugal S/C's sound exactly like turbo's

Centrifugal superchargers can also run a blowoff valve.

Being as this is a Honda board and the people are asking about them for their Honda's, my opinions are based what these products will do for a Honda... not really focusing on anything else. Other engines are different and require different questions and answers.

i was pretty much dead set on turbo'ing my sol to 300whp on my new b18c but i'm thinking of just going JRSC now... i am not looking fora street monster just something peppy that will get me past a slow car in the right lane and such. this is basically just gonna be a toy car for me buta couple things concern me.
1. Reliability. I know their biggest downfall is the heat that they produce. With an 8psi pulley will the heat created from the JRSC cause reliabilty issues for me? This will be a daily driver for a year or so. So i want to make sure that i can still drive it daily and take the random trips up to 8 hrs away for the car shows i attend. (NOPI ntl's etc etc)

8 PSI is nothing to the JR supercharger... Ive been running about 12 psi for about 50,000 miles.
