Default EBAY TURBO!

just got my 00-si after being in a wreck..
wanting to turbo this when my insurance money come out
any suggested kit?
or has any one know about this ebay brand kit?

i wouldnt put anythign but the best parts on a 99-00 si

you can piece together a good kit for around 1000-1500

with parts alot better than most ebay kits

has anyone ever put an ebay kit on there car? if so what are your experiences with it? I always hear everyone saying never do it and i understand the reasons why but has anyone done it?

(Not from experience on turbo's.) You get what you pay for, just like everything else in life. There is a reason why people on here are spending 3-4K on a turbo setup. It's because thats what works, the thousand dollar kits don't work well and will not hold up.
There are somethings you can get on ebay and have them hold up, turbo kits are not one of them.
Piece together your own kit, there are plenty of great threads on here.

dude i understand that...I get that you get what you pay for...i just want to hear some feedback from people who've used the ebay turbo kit...if anyone even has, it'd be interesting to see how it's holding up!

the only ebay turbo kit (thats a bolt on kit) i would buy is a greddy or edlebrock. i would piece together a kitfor cheaper

go to turbod16.com and youll read plenty of people who run these with no problem. That being said, its so easy to build your own kit, it would be kinda of like throwing money in the trash buying these kits. Youll save maybe 2-300 bucks and get generic parts in return.

if you want a turbo kit that cheap go to treadstoneperformance.com they are a turbonetics dealer, and have turbonetics turbos in their kits....and i've heard nothing but good things about em'.....

The ebay kits have wastegates that like to break, manifolds that crack and have been known to fall off, and turbos that almost always leak oil and not to mention when it comes to turbo's, technology MATTERS.

Buying IC piping, intercoolers, etc from ebay's not a big deal. Just don't buy the heart of the setup from them.
