Default First time turbo

hey everyone,
I'm going to pick up my first Honda SI coupe on saturday, its a 2007. I wanted to know about turbos/supercharges considering I really want to up the horsepower, but at the same time I hear alot about turbo's "spiking" and destroying the engine. If any one can help me out thanks in advance!

You've got a lot to learn my friend. I havent researched the latest Si enough to know whats available for it as far as turbo "kits" go, but usually you can always count on being able to piece together a custom turbo kit. You can count on spending probably atleast 3-5 grand in parts alone...if you are new to tuning as it seems you are, I definitely wouldNOTtry to take on the job of installing it or tuning it yourself or else you may end up ruining that brandnew engine...start talking with some of the experienced people, and shops that are around you but most of all, do your research. I cant stress that enough. The spiking you're referring to can be easily prevented by using a good quality boost controller and wastegate. Good luck.

btw- I dont know if there are superchargers available for the Si, but honestly I wouldnt spend my money on one because you can make more HP with a turbo than you can with a supercharger.

ummm....are you sure you want to go that route right away? You do realize that by tirboing it you're basically letting the warranty go on a brand new car?
