yeah, and it actually was made to make the same 200 as the a2, but the government changed the laws at the last minute of testing, and all new cars have to be rated for hp with the power steering hooked up, so thats where it lost the 3hp.

The Civic EX stock are damn close to sub-8 second 0-60 times (8.2 to 8.5 range) meaning it should be great when modded being the engines have almost the same bore x stroke as the B18B's with a timing chain reather than a belt. Should be a good car to boost because of the sohc I-Vtec head and Hondata is allready ripping stock EX and SI ecu open to mess with.
Should be a better car all around than any other civic put out. The only thing that I dont like is the weight, at a 2800lb curb weight for the EX it is a bit heavy

Yea sure with the money, time, help to do it sure. Worth it....only time will tell. The K20A's are great engines that take very very well to mods and ecu tunning. On top of that you have the option of the K24/K20 hybrid combo that gives more displacement.
What is more impressive is the D series replacement being in stock form they are putting numbers out that the K20A3's and B16A's do also all from a SOHC design with a timming chain, ind. coil packs, and still with the stroke that allows the ability to go up in the revs if the aftermarket decides to accept them better than the D17's.
Honda is going the right way. A new NSX is due to come out in 09 with AWD and a DOHC V10 VTEC engine. They are thinking of bringing the Fit/Jazz to the U.S., and they are still keeping things priced right. The new SI is slated to be loaded and still under $21,000 which is great being all the stuff it offers

i would love to see the Fit take the place of the older civics as a fun lightweight. i heard it would be starting around 12k if they brought it over. if thats the case, then when the 86 becomes unstreetable, maybe ill look into that as a new DD.

Yea, I like the idea of modding an insight. Take the damn wheel cover things on the back off and loose all the batteries and put a K20A in it. That = like a 1400lb car with a K woo hooo
