Fuel Pump

Default Fuel Pump

Is it necessary to get a new fuel pump when installing a turbo... and is it really necessary to get a tune or can it go witout it???

No, a fuel pump is not neccesary if you are running on stock setting/boost. Same goes for a tune.

Well, if he's gonna run stock then no, but a with a good amount of boost, you're also gonna need a good amount of other parts along with the fuel pump as well.

Boost = more air

More air = need more fuel

Need more fuel + tired stock fuel pump = bad.

You aer gonna have to have some way to get more fuel in there. FMU, bigger injectors... whatever. And whatever it is it will put a strain on your stock fuel pump. Lets' just say, put it on the highly recommended list.

And a good tune is key. Not only can it get you more power, and better gas mileage, and use the boost more efficiently, but it also makes the engine less prone to bad things like exploding, or throwing a rod, or things of the such.

Considering even stock boost adds about 50% more power, I would say NOT tuning even with those numbers would be a little irresponsible. When I ran a 55 shot my vafc helped dramatically to increase my 1/4 times. Dont' be cheap, to get the most of out that 6psi, upgrade fuel delivery, and tune.

I already got my FMU and ordered my 310cc fuel injectors about 2 weeks about and still waiting, I will be running about 7psi. thanks for all the advice. Ya if I would be running a lot of boost, for sureley I would need more things

Youre getting ahead of yourself. With those 310's you're gonna be runnin rich. Now you have to get a VAFC. Also, I dont know if the stock setting, or the FMU will support 7 psi, but it may I dont know.

I am currently running 310's on a stock fuel pump and regulator at 10psi with no problems. Anything over 10psi and you will need to upgrade. You will want to get a good tune though.
