I aint backwards on ****.

When I did my turbo civic a long time ago, I used one of the smallest turbos you could put on a car so that it would spool quickly. Theres just no reason to have a monster turbo requiring that much airflow to get moving in a daily driver....or ever, in a Civic, for that matter..

So how much turbo psi do you need to run if your car is daily driven?

You have no concept of how turbos work, now do you?

actually i do. to make it short, intake air pushes the turbo, turbo pushes air to engine, more air faster turbo spins, faster car goes.
but ive been told you can run 7psi for daily driving but then again i heard of people running 12 or even 14psi. I thought the honda guys here would know...?

Ok, I'm going to make an exception and not be an ******* to you in this thread. Intake air does NOT push the turbo. The exhaust gas leaving the engine goes through the turbine part of the turbocharger and spins that, which is connected by a shaft to a part called the compressor which compresses the intake air and shoves it into the intake manifold.

The psi number is not the same for all turbochargers. You can run 30 psi on GT1241 (not sure many people on here ever held that thing) and move the same amount of air as a regular T3 at 7 psi. These things are pumps. The bigger they are - the more air they move at less pressure.

Instead of pissing around in the Lounge, you should check out the stickies in this section and do some more research on the turbo subject.

Getcha learn on son, we all had to start somewhere..
