Default looking at a ZEX wet kit for my '03 lx

hey guys

how hard of a install is the ZEX wet kit?

you cannot change the timing in my car, something about individual coils, but i'll put in 2 heat rabges cooler plugs and check them after a few pulls. anything else?

Read Mobsta's thread about Nitrous.

Its not too hard, from what I hear, and i've read the manual and it doesn't seem too bad. You sure we can't change timing in our 7th gens..? I know a guy whos running I/H/E, and a 75 wet shot and does 14.3 in the 1/4 mile. I THINK you can, but i'm not totally sure myself. And, I think you'd only need to run 1 step colder for a 55 shot, and a 2 steps for 75. When Mobsta did a run on his 55 shot, and checked his plugs, they were too cold, and they were only 2 steps colder.

I think you need a program like hondata to adjust timing on a 7th gen. There is another member on this forum with a 7th gen running nitrous with no timing retard on a 75 shot, but he doesn't read his plugs so neither he nor I know if it is actually causing detonation or not, but I suspect it is. You could run a 50 shot with no timing retard, 1 step colder plugs, 91+ octane and you might be okay. You can try that, do a run and read the plugs.

You know its not detonating if:
1. There isn't any "pepper" on the porcelain
2. No metallic flakes on the metal parts of the plug
3. Ground strap and center electrode are not being rounded off/melted/ or damaged in any other way.

People also always forget or just don't know how to read plugs: You have to shut the car off immediately after the nitrous pull, without letting it idle. Also you need to use a magnifying glass to look at the spark plug.

The rear of your car looks like a ford focus.

That is all.

I just want to say that you can change the timing in a d17. You have to use some sort of engine management to do it, but you can. AEM F/IC does a pretty good job with turbo, I have no clue about nitrous though.
