Default looks like im back on the turbo bandwagon

long story short, first i was going to turbo then i wasnt, now i think i am...

my friend that has a friend whos a mechanic at a dealership is doing the labor for me and heres the deal he is giving me..
$1750 for labor which includes the following
-turbo install
-ARP headsud install
-clutch install
-head gasket install
-timing belt install
-cam install
-cam gear install
-dyno tune

I know it might not be an "AMAZING" deal but I think it's definately a deal.

anyways, I have a few questions
1) is the rev hard stage II kit a good kit for me (its $2,900)
2) what cams and cam gears should I get for the turbo set up? (I was gona get skunk2 stage II cams and bisimoto cam gears, but do i need diff. ones for the turbo setup?)
3) What timing belt should I get?
4) he recommended hondata ecu, where do i get one of these from?

I think it all depends on what type of power you are planing to make...

1.) Peicing one together is cheaper and you can build one specific to your goals.
2.)ZEX makes a good cam for boost but I cannot remember the part number at the moment.
3.)OEM Timing belt
4.)Get hondata s300, you can buy chipped ecu's off of ebay or you can do it yourself.

could someone help me piece one together? I mean I know I can read the stickys but I dont know what will give me what. I dont have any plans on going to the track or anything, I just want more power for a street car. The guy could fabricate some piping for me for a lil extra cost. But what what are the main pieces I need to get?

How much are we talking about to piece together a kit? $2,000?

I'm planning on piecing one together at the moment also. With everything rounded up I'm close to 3gs with installing it myself. So hopefully i wont spend that much.

First, get a turbo-grind cam. There's a difference between street grinds and turbo grinds for a reason.

Next, piecing a swap together isn't hard (or that expensive)... I'd say it'll cost you anywhere from $1500 to $3000, depending on what you decide to get.

Things you need:
-Turbo (duh) - I'd look for a stock turbo at a junkyard... (would a 14b be too small for a b18?)

-Turbo manifold - I'm assuming you have an integra ls... so I'm not sure what you'd do for a manifiold... I'd say just try to find a custom manifold with the right flange for whatever turbo you get

-Intercooler - It's pretty much agreed that brand doesn't matter.. get a cheap one

-Charge Piping - There's really not much to say about it. you need aluminum tubing and silicone couplers

-BOV - If you want the cool sound, get a good one from a reputable brand. If you don't need that cool sound, just get a used one from a stock turbo car

-injectors - your stock ones won't be able to supply enough fuel

-fuel management - my friend is about to learn why you need this... I'm going to laugh when he destroys his engine within minutes of turboing his cavi.

-vacuum lines (I know I misspelled vacuum... I can never remember if it's two c's or two u's lol) - You need it for the wastegate, boost guage, and BOV

-a new clutch - I'm thinking you'll fry the stock clutch within a day, two at the most

I think that's about everything... someone feel free to correct me if I've forgotten anything.

thanks for the info, whats the best size/brand turbo for me? It's going to be a street car and I dont plan on taking it to the track. Just trying to get the most power without risking reliability. going to keep it at 7psi to be safe.

I just got back froma junk yard looking for T25. T25s are common projects, or a t3/t4 for something bigger. What engine are you doing this on?
