Default Magnaflow Exhaust Performance Turboed.

I am going to purchase a Cat-Back Magnaflow Exhaust system, but I also wanted to do a turbo setup. How is the magnaflow exhaut's performance under a Turbo system? Is fine under the back presure? I heard that the exhasut should at least be 2.5 inches in diameter, does the magnaflow cut it?

as long as its straight through muffler you should be fine... i know i had custom piping with a magnaflow exhaust and the insides broke and were rattling around really bad... the whole muffler basicly fell apart. but by no means was i dissatified by my magnaflow... its a damn good exhaust

i have a magnaflow catback and its 2.25" so its not quite big enough, but im sure its good enough for a mild turbo set up.

You'll just want to basically match the size of the downpipe. That's a good rule of thumb, BUT... you can tune your powerband by going up or down in exhaust pipe diameter. Smaller pipe will spool the turbo faster and give you more torque, larger pipe will slow the turbo and give you more peak HP.

Just remember that no matter what, you want to keep exhaust velocities as high as possible for a given pipe size, so you want a high flow straight through muffler only.

I just turbo'd my Civic Hatchback w/ a Magnaflow exhaust. You MUST go w/ 2.5" piping to get the best results. If you are going to get the turbo kit, do not waste your money on a header. You cannot use an aftermarket header w/ your turbo kit (atleast not on the Greddy Turbo Kits).

What do you mean dont wast your money on a header, isnt that a given?
