which one should i do
ask around here and im sure someone can piece u together a nice kit for $1000 or less. and if your going to do a motor swap u should upgrade to a B seires motor. i know you said your not looking to make alot of power but i alway say if your going to do it anyway might as well do it BIG
bah 350 is easily attainable on a D. well...not easily attainable...but its easier than you think.
and a D runing at 350whp in say a 99 EX will be a faster car than a B running at 350whp in the same 99 EX.

how do you figure it will be faster? the motor and tranny is only a slight difference is weight.. and the B is duel cam.... very good tunability... the b series will come with vtec... unless you get an LS or B20 from a CR-V..... the B series will push more power than any other swap, unless you build the motor before you put it in
let's put it this way....
The D series engine will "Bolt in" - meaning, that the tranny and harness and ecu will fit, but you have to get the same OBD engine and an ECU to run that vtec motor right
The B series will give you more power, but will not bolt in... You will need axels, tranny, motor(and all accesories), shift linkage(unless it is 88-91 CRX Si), motor mounts(again, unless 88-91 CRX), and ECU... maybe a wiring harness for it if it is not an Si....
just in case you dont know
Si - Sequential Fuel Injection
Dx - Dual Point Injection (2 injectors)
so if you are carb'd or dual point, you will need to do a FULL wiring harness conversion as well
get a SOHC ZC VTEC and boost that bitch... you will be out like dookie....hahahaha... I had a DOHC ZC in my 89 integra LS, and it would beat a regular LS, no prob

sorry, but 50 lbs when you have a couple hundred HP, will not make that big of a diff on the butt dyno... and whats with your mouth? you should probably knock off that condesending attitude.. we are all here to help eachother.. not TRY to talk ****....
and I didnt see you giving too much good advice.. so know your bs off...
what I was saying, if you want to save money, get a d series.. if you want to make power, get a b series... everyone knows that a b series is more powerful stock and had stronger internals.... so if you buy a b series swap, and bolt on a turbo, chances are (with a tune and minimal abuse) you will last a while, but for more money... a D series will cost less for the motor and turbo, and just make less power.. its all up to what you want to do... My CRX with the LS, non vtec, books... its fast, fun, and effective... if I were to turbo it, I'd be out.. bu yes.. you can do the same thing with the D series, but they are just weaker

wow thats gotta be one of the most arrogent statement ive ever heard
who cares how it does on the dyno? im talking about at the track. 50 pounds will make all the difference in the world. and when you're talking about a civic, front to back weight ratio is hugely affected by 50 pounds. so the less of it there is in the engine, the more balanced the car is, therefore the faster it is in the corners.
and who cares if a B is more tunable than a D? we're not even talking about that. we're talking about getting to a certain HP range. it doesnt matter if its coming from a B or a D, its the same power.
lock this thread. its only gunna turn ugly.

awwwww.. upset? lol
all i am saying, is that you will reach 350 with a B series quicker that you will with a D series... yes.. the swap will cost more, but it will be worth it in the long run...
I am sorry if I started an argument... I just dont like people trying to clown for no reason
NE WAYS!!!!
50 lbs.. at the track, in the street, IN SPACE..... will make a difference (like I said), but WILL NOT make THAT much of a difference on the but dyno.. im sorry, but 50 lbs shouldnt worry you too much... if it really is that big of a deal, take out the back seats and spare tire... that is more than 50 lbs...
>>>>>>>>>>bunny.. . sorry if I offended you.... dont try to clown

im talking about front:rear balance. putting a B in instead of a D will put 50 more pounds in the front, causing the weight ratio to be thrown off. so youd need to put 50 pounds in the back to even it back out, but then you're at 100 extra pounds.
no hard feelings

^ well... try not to jump out too hard like that. Nail bunny doesnt yell/argue/pick fights at all. I didnt sense any neg. tone in his posts. And that has nothing to do with his post count and or time-in around here.
all I am saying.. is if you have 350 HP.. there is no difference between 50 lbs in the back and the front... ****.. throw me in the car and it will be a bit slower, but it is still hella fast... i dont care what you have....
like you said bunny 350 hp is 350 hp... so if you have 350 hp, and 50 extra lbs.. no matter where, you are still going to fly and thats all that matters.. get my point now?
