Thinking Greddy?
I have a d16y8 totally stock engine in my 2000 EX. I am going to buy a full greddy turbo kit. But What I am wondering is the PSI I am going to get out of it. I am hearing 6-7psi is as high as I should go for a daily driver? I want around 12-14 psi, is there any way I can mod my engine to take that?
a t3/t4 with build internals will def get u well over 250whp on around 8-10psi.An its still a good D.D,
It all depends on if u build ur motor or leave it stock...personally i wouldnt boost an enigine unless its been sleeved

I found edelbrock turbo kit... and it saying on a d16y8 it increased up to 175whp, and thats without being tuned. Think its safe to put onwithout doing anything to the engine?

P.S.
I am probly not gonna buy it from that site for so much money lol. but it looks like a solid kit to me although I dont know to much.

only heard good things about the Edelbrock kit. Some with fuel managment too, and it's safe for stock internals. I think Gsumano (a member here) has the Edelbrock kit and stock internals and he LOVES it for sure. Alot has to do with the tune too. If oyu got OBD1 conversion + chipping/tuning, on a REALLY good tune you can make well over 200hp on stock internals, but at the very least i'd get some ARP headstuds to avoid headlift under boost if you're going to try for more than 200. And Mobsta is right about the PSI vs. HP goals. 10 PSI on a T25 is much different than 10 PSI on a huge diesel truck turbo. If you want something small, go with a T25, wchih is internally gated at 8 PSI i believe, which is a pretty mellow number on a smaller turbo, so it's a common turbo for a DD, or bump it up to a t3/t4, which is a litte bigger turbo if you want some higher numbers.
