Default Timing Issue

I just installed a Greddy 15g Turbo Kit with a Greddy Intercooler on a 93 Honda Civic with a D16A6 SOHC (ZC)......I was wondering if anyone knew how much I have to retard the timing??

Hopefully someone can help me.[/align]

Doesn't it come with the "blue box" or whatever? Or are you using some other sort of engine management? These are the things that should retard the timing.

Well I tried using the gReddy emanage, but the thing is that it is meant for a VTEC application. My engine is a ZC, but the SOHC non-VTEC engine. I tried using the emanage, but the engine wasn't firing properly because I think it has different settings. A friend of mine suggested to retard the timing, that is why I wanted to know how much I should retard it.

Retard the timing and run on high octane or you will recieve undesirable results.

What are you doing for fuel management then? FMU and missing link? You should look into a boost dependant timing retard. I can't think of who makes one right now but just look around. It's kinda like a fmu in that it retards timing depending on the amount of boost. Just retarding the static timing is going to cost you Hp, but until you get something, set it to 10* and bump it up until you hear pinging at full boost.
