I'd recommend NepTune for the tuning if you can find a dealer within driving distance. http://hrtuning.com/pages/category/dealers/

Why new pistons? Jw.

well i am gonna get the head done, so then i was just thinking if i beefed up the pistons then it would be able to take more boost right? Or is that just completely wrong.

No there's some truth to that. However with proper tuning I think OEM may suit your needs. Just depends on what kind of power you want from it. Also, your rods will be a weaker link than your pistons. So if what you're wanting to do with the car warrants forged pistons, you'll want rods as well. The nice thing about forged pistons is you can have them made to your specs. OEM are a set cast. Also, just fyi, the only OEM pistons you'll be able to boost on are the one's that come with the motor (P08s), D17A2s (PLR), or Suzuki Vitara pistons. The D17A2s would require a very thin headgasket or block decking to reach a good compression, and the Vitara's may sit out of the block ~10/1000ths of an inch.

Also, good idea getting the head done. D-series engines see good results from head work, because they're designed with economy in mind. Who are you having do it and what are you having done?

well for the head... i have no idea. i was thinking of just taking it to a machinist shop and having them do it. should i actually sent it out somewhere and get it done? i mean i have never gotten one done for a civic, but my dad got his done for his firebird, and it sure did help a lot

so you think i should stick with stock? i am trying to get to 170-200hp range, if thats possible with this engine, so you havie any suggestions? or suggestions on how much psi i should run?

170 to 200whp can be had totally stock. My d15b was boosted and at 7 to 9psi from a rinky dink T25 it made 173whp.

yeahhh...good luck with keeping it smog legal if your putting the kit together yourself. Go renegade man, its all good, my car is registered 3 counties away because they dont have emissions and where i live does.

hmmm, maybe i should just keep it off till i get it smogged and then put the kit back on, or i might get an edelbrock kit, but i just looked and the closest they have is a d16y8...or a z6. which would i get then for the jdm d15b? the z6?
