Default Turbo for d16az

i have a d16az in my civic, pushing 125 stock probly up too 130 due too new air intake and manifolds and exhaust/ spark plugs and wires. it has 330,000 kliks on it. i was wondering , i want to do a swap for next spring , probably too a b16a. 160 hp ( am i correct) and add a little turbo on it to get it up to about 200-240 hp nothing SERIOIUSe. jsut somethign to give me the punch when i need it to dp a little racing for money. now how much do you guys think a b16 a will run me with about 100,000 kliks on her. and a descent turbo , plus all the pieces nesecary to have the engine handle the turbo. and for the car to handle it. what are all the pieces i will need to get the ecu and parts to push this engine in my car. i don't know all that much about cars but i am learning and i want to learn more and more and more everyday. how much do you think a nice little utrbo and that enging will run me for

D16AZ is not even a honda motor. Or at least its not on any lists. The D16Z6 pushes close to 125 so maybe thats what you are thinking of. (correct me if im wrong). Anyway assuming that you have a D16Z6, go ahead and put a turbo on that unless you have about $3000 to spend on a b16 and turbo and everything. If you have the cash go for the b16 swap + turbo.

D16A6, non-vtec, steel girdle and decent rods.

Just boost the engine you have now provided it doesn't burn any oil.

You can piece a decent turbo system together for about 1.5k, or you can buy a kit for a little more. The d16z6 is a good D series motor to turbo. If you have no idea about turbo's, do some research and find out what exactly goes into installing and putting together one.

Z6 is different, it's the engine that I'd LOVE to have. Fuggin Y8.[:@]

You're not going to get boost when you hit the pedal with a turbo, it's just not going to happen. If I were you, T3 .42/.48 internal wastegate @ 8psi or so, log manifold, ebay or used JRC intercooler, stealthmode oil line kit, ebay or greddy IC piping kits, ebay knockoff BOV, P28 chipped with crome, DSM450s and a resistor box, and have someone tune it for you. There are a few guys up there in Toronto, you'll have to look around a bit though. You'll also need a new clutch, www.lsdmotorsports.com. Street strip clutch stage II, it's what I run, works just fine and for a good price.

Go with an external wastegate and a dumptube if you want to be a bit more boost versitile, but that's going to cost you more.

With a good tune at 8psi, that turbo could do 180-190 and similar torque, 10-12psi will probably put you over the 200 mark with a good tune and a fun daily driver.

What I told you there shouldn't cost you more than 1000-1500 including tuning. However, beware, boost is a drug, I'm already tired of 210whp and am picking up an engine soon to start building a 25psi worthy monster for this coming spring.

25 psi that is nuts man good luck with htat GOOOD LUCK sounds like fun, hey i appreciate all the help man. you know what your talkign about.. hopefully by next spring - summer i will have enough moeny to put a turbo on her. all winter i am going to be doing researching on turbos and stuff. i know this one shop in markham tthat said they will tune it for me. right across from my dads work, they are good there. for the intercooler. i checked out that site that you put the link for , good stuff thanx. i was looking at the bar and plate intercoolers run at around anywere from 175-250 would that replace the radiater in my car? if so that is wahat i thought for sure. i seen the t3 turbos on that site for about 520 . i am oging to have to do some research , from what i have seen so far, the air intake tube hooks up to the turbo , then the tube runs to the intercooler. goes in the one end then out the other, a tube then runs too the throttle body. i think that is correct. and that is the basic turbo setup. it is forced air induction right., the log manifold replaces the stock manifold i ahve on there now, allowing better air flow throught the exhaust system. allowing hte engine to exhale all the forced air the turbo has put into the car, will i need a newfuel rail,. and fuel lines and fuel injectors do to all the new air being pushed in.

the intercooler does not replace your radiator, 2 completely different systems
