Default turbo install in winter?

well...im saving up money to turbocharge my d16y8
right now iv got about 3000$ saved that can go towards my whhhip...but i wont buy anything till i have 5g's so that i can learn more about them and it all goes smoothly (daily driver) and i do it right the first time. ANYYYWAY ill probably have that much by end october- mid november and i live in calgary, Canada, it gets cold and ugly pretty fast.

Is installing a turbo in winter a bad idea?? My garage is not heated. Is there anything not weather friendly about installing turbos? Im not a very patient person lol so waiting till spring could be excruciating.

What is the importance of a heater? Do the turbo go bad when it gets too cold?

i agree^^ i would highly recommend the edelbrock kit for your d16y8 sinc eyou have the cash for it and it will gain some really good numbers.... complete al the way down from a intake manifold to a bolt up downpipe...

http://www.edelbrock.com/sportcompac...rbo_perf.shtml

even a ball bearing turbo and step by step instructions provided

Im from Edmonton here man, The SECOND I see a snow flake or any salt on the road, my car get parked in my gf's heated lot
(as you guys know that s*** feeds off the under side) not to come out angain till its over (march, april). Anyway, nothing to do with your question, but its always a good time to dive under the hood, and I agree colder air is a good good thing for the turbo...
