Any one ever hear of a problem like this. It just doesnt make sence. Everything is hooked back up. Fuel is there, spark appears to be there. Car rolls over but doesnt start. Im out of ideas. If I dont get it going in a day or so here, my friend needs his garage back. I'll prob have to have it towed to a repair shop.

The starter seems to be fine. It cranks. Last night we were cranking for a while, there were occasional sparks comming from the thick wire that goes to the starter. I have abso no idea. Im calling a mechanic monday to have it towed.

Also, the car is on jack stands. I doubt if that has anything to do with it, but maybe its getting a bad ground.

Your firing order and timing are fine if it freely cranks overs. Do a rundown of all the sensors and plugs on the engine. Make sure the IAT sensor is hooked up along with the IACV and others. When I swapped my D15B into my sedan I had the same problem. First it was firing order, when your firing order is off it will crank a couple times if that then kind of recoil if that makes sense. To put it into perspective when a piston is on it's way up about mid stroke the plug would fire and all but hault the attempt to start it. Your timing should be right at 16 dbtdc and make sure all the sensors are plugged in correctly.

Yesterday we used a volt meter to test the coil, and we had the voltmeter on the frame, and it grounded out. In otherwords there was a spark from the voltmeter to the frame. So the coil is appearantly working.

I have not yet recet the ecu during this whole ordeal, I doubt that would make a difference. Any other suggestions? Has anyone even ever heard of such a case? Im am stumbed. I lost 2 pounds in the last 2 days trying to figure out what the hell.

Ok, Ill to the rundown on all the sensors. My distributor prior to install was twisted all the way towards the front of the car, and thats where I'll keep it. Ill also check the vacum lines that I tapped in to. Thanks.

something similar happend to me that all of a sudden my car wouldn't start but would crank, i was getting fuel, my coil was good, reseted the ecu, i was getting spark, that at the end i just ended up taking it to the mechanic and it turn out to be some electrical part near the ignition switch.

does it sound like just the starter is spinning...or does it sound like its actually turning the engine over??....if it sounds like just the starter spinning it could be the solenoid that actually engages it into the flywheel
