Default turbo problems

i have a 97 civic ex with a turbo jdm h22a swap. i am only runing 5psi on it but when i am driving it down the road it does good, if i dont go over 1/4 throttle. but when i do go over 1/4 throttle it back fires and the boggs down very very bad. i have a wideband a/f but not on it yet i got it today. it will be goin on very very soon. but right now i have the turbo timer on it and it tell me that the air fuel is around 12 or 14, it jumps back and forth when i am on it. right now i am run the stock obdII ecu from the civic. i tryed useing the prelude one (i think it the p13 not sure) but it wouldnt rev over 3000 rpm with that one. so i put the obdII on it. fuel press. is set to close to 50 psi at idle. i have the riseing rate fuel press reg on it. with the missing link set it. i know my tps is off, i just found out how to fix it. it is miss adj. so tomorrow i will reset it but any one eles know of any thing eles i can do or try to make it run better intell i get the money for s300?

what????? Uh untuned that is your problem, get any engine management and tune it immediately theres more to boost than just dumping in more fuel

You should be able to use a rising rate fpr on that low of boost no problem. What i wanna know is how are you getting an a/f reading off of a turbo timer? Hook that wideband up and get an accurate reading. Also, are you trying to say that you're running a single cam ECU on an H22?

^exactly what he said

how can you expect to use an ECU for a D16Y8 on an H22a and not expect that to be the problem? The engines are completely different in every shape and form besides that they both say Honda and are 4 cylinder engines.

Wow. You just JDM H22 turboed your way onto the failbus, because you don't have the slightest clue as to what you are doing.

Call me a psychic, but I forsee engine failure in your future. And no, I'm not going to help, because if you read my stickies you'd know what you did wrong. Yay!

a. no you should not under any condition use a rising rate fuel pressure regualator as your sole means of adjusting fuel or at all period.
b. 5 psi does not mean a thing what turbo do you have among other information that was not given.
c. I hope you are not using a stock d16y8 ecu on that h22a. Now you could go obd1 and get it chipped and get it tuned.
I just suggest get that h22a back to stock and get the correct ecu and I hope you have the right wiring harness on there and leave it at that.

Dude, you gotta plan ahead. Fuel management is the toughest part of turboing a car. You can't just slap that part together.
