Does the greddy kit come with an internal wastegate? Doesn't the waste limit boost? Can you just throw on a boost controller with the internal wastegate and turn it up a few lbs more with good management?

 

Whoa now, don't get way too ahead of yourself. You can't just "turn it up a few more lbs." You've got to know what your engine can handle before running higher boost. I'm pretty sure the GReddy kit has an external wastegate.

 

yea exactly. The boost controller is there for an extra precaution as well as to raise boost. You CAN up the boost, but let a tuner do that. He will program ur FCU to the proper amount of boost u want to run. My greddy kit is set at 5.5 PSI and its going to stay that way until i get it tuned. I got a boost controller and dont plan on touching it...........thats what ill be paying a tuner for.

 

Yes you can run a boost controller on an internal wastegate.

Not sure what the Greddy has but usally most companies will offer either one.

The waste gate is there to control boost not limit boost although it does limit boost to controll it

Anyone have tuning experience themselves?

I was thinking about buying a laptop, researching, and try some windows based tuning. . . .You really don't need a dyno to tune a d15b to run 8-10 psi, do you?

 

Yea you do. It's not as easy as you are making it sound. People that tune cars have tons of experience and know what works and what doesn't.

 

lol is that why its so expensive. Haha. Tuning is best left to the pros. If it were THAT easy, there would be no need to tuners.

 

What are you planning on tuning with?

I think AEM is the only windows based tuner out right now but not sure about that.

 

greddy e-manage! I'm pretty sure I saw a program greddy makes with the e-manage. It's only like a $100 or so. I'm sure I'll end up taking my car to a tuner, I'm just paranoid. . .

 

You already have e-manage and want to add a tuning program? I thought e-manage was more expensive then that, but truthfully I dont know much about it.


Your right though, I belive e-manage is tuned off windows so I was wrong
