Default Where are all the turbos?????

I have an '02 Civic EX 4DR......It seems aftermarket parts are scarce compared to earlier model EX's. I have been looking for a turbo kit to put on maybe later this summer, but I have only found one. It seems most applicatons stop about '00 except for the SI's of course. Is it because they're still developing product for this type motor (D17A2) or did they just skip it? I know I know, its a SOHC but I can still get between 225-275hp which is about where I want to be. Any suggestions??

It got skipped because of it's fuel system and the all around design of the engine is not favored as the parts are not swap-able to other D series.

What's wrong with the fuel system? Can it be fixed?

its a returnless fuel system.......needs to be changed to one that returns. The bottom ends in the D17s are substantially weaker than any other D series motor too. Honestly its not a good motor to boost.

k20 swap will be about $10k total, that's a whole lot of money to me, but i don't know about you. he means the stock engine block is not as reliable as a stock d16,15 block. everybody says they're crappy but i'm on a mission to find out what they can take fo real.

I'm sure it will be fine. I'm looking to boost 6psi, maybe 8psi on occasion. I think this motor should be fine with that amount, right? I'm not racing this thing on the strip or anything. I'm just looking for a nice little surprise under the hood, its daily driven(in the summer). Ya know, small turbo boost, a little exhaust and maybe about 225hp. I think this motor would handle that.....I wish I could find a friggin' cam though, I have yet to see one for this motor!! Ya and I figure, if I want a K20 then I'll just sell this damn thing and buy a new car : ) Screw the swap....

Now it is not as bad as it sounds I know a guy making 255whp with one but it is just not loved like the 1.6's. 6, 8, 10, or even 12psi from the kit I posted will be fine if and this is a huge if you get it tuned by the correct person.
