can't wait to see the real video. one q was that the check engine light goin on when u were pullin it. Is that normal with turbo civics.

 

No it is not. It should not be flashing at all. What it was that the car was still just a tad from being warmed up. The flash is the Power FC telling me its knocking. You cant just tear off with a cold turbo motr. You have to let it warm up before you gun it.

To explain the solid light, I have a Apex'i standalone ecu. No hondata or any of that jazz. For those of you who dont know, I dont have a factory ecu at all. Its all powered off the Apex'i unit.

Back to subject. The solid cell you see in the teaser is simply the unit (Apexi Power FC) talking to the commander ( the remote that you utilize to tune the car and moniter its settings/reactions).

There are give and take advantages to having a standalone setup. The standalone allows you to tune without barriers. Like I have always said in comaprison to the Matrix "There is no Spoon" concept. Meaning Without question the car does what it is told to do. There are also plenty of disadvantages to having a standalone unit albeit a Greddy, Apexi or AEM. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING runs a car better then a Honda ECU. If you have a f'ing awesome tuner like I do, then a standlaone isnt a bad idea for higly modified cars.
