O.K. the quick answer is the 9 volt runs into a voltage regulator the brings the voltage down to 5 volts which is what a USB port spits out. Now the two capacitors are only there to help balance the voltage and make sure that you dont get any spikes in the voltage and burn something up. I put a switch on the positive side to turn it off, and the LED is just one from Oznium that I wired in to see when it was on or off. Really simple circuit. The are only five solder points in the whole thing.

As for the shoe box idea, Would a boot box work? I cant fit the motherboard into a shoebox because its too small. But I have a box that my workboots came in. If thats not cheating I will try to do it.

I thought about it and I am gonna try the computer in a shoe box thing. I should have it dont tonight. I will post a DIY on it just for fun. LOL

 

post up the schematic for the usb charger fooo. or better yet a step by step I want to make one and am to lazy to figure it out.

Use four AAs and that should give you just enough. BTW, AA are 1.3 volts. Only problem with useing them to do this is you dont get that long of a charge.

 

I got to take my hat off to you for doing that. Thats pretty sick. I wish I knew how to do that stuff. My brother is really good at that crap since he went to school for it.
