how much did the lens end up costing you? My 75-300 was just $200, so I picked it up, and so far I've only used my kit lens to shoot trains and stuff...

We both have Canon Rebels, my is an XT (8Mp) his is XTi (10Mp) if I got it right

Look into a Canon Rebel XT from Sears. When I got it, it was on a ridiculous sale (I did have to drive an hour to a store that had one in stock though)

the lens at reg price is $700+tax, I got it for $500 tax in, people say the kit lens is not that good, but I use mine a lot, once I get better and start to notice that the kit lens is not doing it for me, ill upgrade. Ill add you as a contact on flickr, whats your name on there?

Roto_HCF ...I know, I'm predictable I'm actually shopping around for a couple of slave flashes and probably the push-pull 100-400 lens. After that I'll have to buy an adapter for my old M42 mountt lenses so I could use those.

So you can use your old manual lenses? (m42)? Because I looked at adapters before and I heard there is no true adapter, you can get e-bay ones and such, but they throw everything off, I did research on them and found that none really work...

it depends on what is meant by "none really work" ... it's a simple screw to bayonet adapter, kind of hard to screw that up... if T-mount works, than that should work too.

Do a quick search on google, mounting manual lenses on a digital camera, just problems with infinity focus,stop-down metering, ect... I looked at this before because i have some old canon lenses I would love to use, but the problems just keep going. If you do end up getting one, let me know, because if it worked I would get one in a second...
