Default The car I never should have sold

Well I finally scanned in some pics of my old baby...quality is not the best since they're scanned....

1986 Monte Carlo SS
ZZ3 350 GM crate motor, 345hp/387 torque
Polished Street & Performance TPI fuel injection with custom ECU (added about 25hp)
Street & Performance Polished serpentine belt system with corvette water pump.
Hooker headers
Flow master 3" Exhaust
Built Turbo 400 Trans
Billet Specialties 16x8 Wheels

Ground up restoration by my father and me. Pictured in Car Craft Magazine December 1997.....not a day goes by I don't regret selling her. []

...and no it's not pink! it's GM Raspberry [8D]....okay so it looks pink!

Why did you sell it? It looks like you put a butt load of work into it.

A few reasons...mainly because I a was going to be getting married and needed money for the wedding. (Never got married) [:@] I bought the car for $4300 in 1993 and it was black and in very good shape. I probably put another $10k into in easily.

Is that a L98 out of a vette? or atleast the intake system?

The ZZ3 and ZZ4 crate engines are pretty good starting points, I....myself would have went with a gen II lt1 or lt4 over that but nice engines none the less.

Wow, she sure is pretty Rasky. I work with a guy who absolutely loves Monte's. I just showed him that picture and his jaw about hit the floor.

Not sure what car the TPI was from...juts ordered it from Street & Performance but it looked like the same units the Vetts had. I was young and seen the ZZ3 being displayed at Back to the 50's car show. I wanted a motor that would make the car faster than the Camaro's and Mustangs at that time....the ZZ3 was making more power out of the box and I got a killer deal on one that had been dropped and just had damage to parts I was already replacing.

Thanks for all the feedback....I ended up Buying a 2000 R6 after I called off the wedding.

What sucks even more than having sold it is that the 18yr old kid that bought it blew the motor up 2 days later!!! Guess he didn't know what a redline was! [>:]
