Civic vs Supra

RE: Civic vs Supra
This response is to a post on page 3. You claimed the civic couldn't pull on the supra by 200 feet. Well lets do the math. Ready? Are you sure? Ok here goes...............Stock supra runs 13.5 rough estimate. That civic runs 9.5 Im using a stock supra because you stated that even if the civic ran an 8 it still couldn't pull like that on a STOCK supra, okay here goes. At the time the civic would cross the finish line, the supra would be going around 100 MPH, probably slower, but we'll use 100 because its easier for math. So 100MPH/60(min)= 1.67 MPM(miles per minute)/60 again= .028 miles per second X 5280(feet in a mile)= 147.84 feet per second. Now because the supra is still accellerating this number is going to keep going up for 4 seconds until the supra reaches the finish line. BUT the 100MPH I started with is VERY high. A 13.5 second car won't be going 100 MPH in 9.5 seconds, but to make you happy we'll use it. So where are we at now? We need to know how far away from the finish line the supra is, when the civic crosses the finish line. If we are at 9.5 seconds and the supra isn't going to finish for 4 more seconds we simply take the rate of speed of the supra (147.84) x 4 seconds= 591.36 feet. Tell me again why the civic couldn't be 200 feet ahead of the supra? The reason the civic pulled so hard the last half the race is simple. Obviously at launch the supra has the advantage, but after the civic gets grip AND hits its upper powerband range that is when it will pull and pull HARD on the supra. Now the 591.36 feet "might" be a little high, its not high enough to say the civic couldn't pull 200 feet.

RE: Civic vs Supra
you are right those civics are a beast.
I have heard that Force racing will be going to that platform in the near future
4 hours? dude......... you are driving a civic. I am thinking an hour and a half max. He11 I can't imagine driving 175 across the Idaho country side would be a problem. Just watch out for cattle crossings.
