well technically it's not really a racist term. depend on what you mean. cause it's us people that have been here longer that use it on the ones that have just got here.

 

I don't see why it would apply to only Asians if it wasn't meant derogatoryily.

 

i don't know either, but have only herd asians using it. like middle eastern, and east asia folks.

 

I wouldn't consider in a racist term, its more of a anti-immigrant thing. Like an asian that was born here or has lived here forever will call another asian that just arrived to the U.S. a "FOB". I don't think its like a hate kinda thing, just a phrase that describes that the person doesn't really understand how the country works and stuff. LOL, i jus listened to the radio thing. The funniest part is the host was laughing in the backround and the guy was all confused about how his wife was on the phone.

 

I would agree. People dont use it to directly insult someone. Its just a term that means they are new to america. Even if it was racist who cares, they can go back to their own country if they dont like it.

 

Racism isn't cool.

 

It doesn't only apply to asians but its more well known among asians since the U.S. is a western country and Asia is an eastern country and the East and West are pretty different. ALso, if i went to India i'm pretty sure the locals would think i was a FOB as well.
