Talking I'm back...with a bike

Hey guys, I used to be a pretty active part of this forum and stopped participating much when I went to college and my car stayed at home. I recently added a new toy to the stable and thought i'd show everyone.

Why'd you get rid of it? That's a great bike!

haha, yeah... about that.

Long story short:
It was a week before I started college and I needed a laptop; I had money in my savings account but my mother had me under the impression I was to use it only at college (kind of pointless in retrospect as all the money came from my paychecks), so I sold the bike to get money for the laptop. A month or two later, I was complaining about missing my bike and my mom asked me why I didn't just take money from my saving account to pay for the laptop. FML.

I'll be in the market for another one either this fall or the spring of '11. Going to be hard to find another '01-'03 that hasn't been stunted or stunted.

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm hoping to find another '01-03 with the split-seat tail, but I'm pretty much willing to buy any fully-faired fuel-injected 600 if the price is right. Depending on how my finances are, I might buy a cbr600rr from a dealership.

CBR600 FTW. Thats what I'm looking at. No more 955's for this guy.

What gear you rockin?

*edit*
Hows that openface working for ya? Had a buddy with an open face Ducati. Thing would get pretty loose on the highway < our roads = trash > and was scary to watch him at the track.

Not too bad at all. The ergos are pretty great on the bike in general and I like the naked look. If I decide to get into long distance touring, I'll probably get a mini fairing that I can put on in the winter to keep from getting cold, but in terms of bike stability there's no issues at all-at least at the speeds i've gone which is only up to the speed limit in a 70 zones. I'm new to biking, and am not in any hurry to start pushing things.

I've got a FirstGear Teton jacket along with Scarab winter gloves and a new better fitting helmet in the mail. I autocrossed alot so I had a helmet for that, but I figure since I'm gonna be wearing one a lot more often now, I wanted a snell and DOT approved one. I went with the Scorpion exo400 because it was one of the few brands that fit my huge head correctly.

Currently I'm using a FirstGear summer mesh jacket with armor and just piling the warmer clothes on top of that. Works alright for shorter distance stuff, but I'm looking forward to some quality gear
