Jamaica Mon! (Looong thread, TONS of pics!)
Alright, It’s about time I posted about this trip. I kept meaning to put something up but every time I started, something else would begin occupying my time (like decimating a y8 for example).
Warning, there is a TON of babbling in this thread, and I do not blame you if you don’t read it all. However, I urge you to read the picture descriptions, as some of the things we saw were quite interesting.
Anyway, Lori and I took our honeymoon in mid-January, at Sandals Ochos Rios in sunny, laid-back Jamaica. Also down there, were my Dad and his new wife, and 16 of their friends. Lori and I stayed at a different resort, so that we would have our privacy. But the two resorts were only 10 minutes from each other, which made getting back and forth fairly easy. Anywho, half the point of the trip was that my Dad and Stacie were getting married, so we had all sorts of festivities.
Day one was a looooong *** day. I got up at 12:30 am, drove us over to Detroit for our flight that eventually landed in Jamaica at around noon. When you land, you are brought to the Sandal’s lounge (in which I pounded countless Red Stripe’s in the 10 minutes we were there), then rushed onto a two hour bus ride.
Here is the airport, pretty high tech **** eh? I guess their version of Homeland Security is not quite as "extensive" as ours; I could probably hurdle this fence

This is no ordinary bus ride, in fact, it was more intense than most amusement park rides I’ve been on. The roads are horrible, and there are basically no traffic laws there. It’s not uncommon to get cut off by multiple cars at the same time, and still, they’re so laid back, that no one cares! Unreal..
Anyway, onto the pics.
Heres Lori and I when the bus ride first started, we’re VERY tired. Lori actually gets motion sickness, this is the last smile that graced her face until the bus finally stopped at the resort.

Halfway through the bus ride we pulled over at a Rest Area, which I wish I would have gotten a picture of, but I was too busy rushing to the BAR INSIDE to grab more Red Stripe. However, Lori snapped a picture of the view, pretty amazing for a rest stop.

Once we started to get into the towns, the scenery became very interesting. Here are a couple shots of the homes down there. They range from 8’x8’ tar paper shacks, to some of the most beautiful structures I’ve ever seen first hand.
It was pretty cool to see how they built the homes into the hills.

Some of the more upscale homes

I thought this one was particularly sweet

Here is an absolutely SICK golf course, It was gorgeous, too bad I didn’t get to play..

Here are some scenery shots

Apparently, Christopher Columbus landed here some time in 1494

This is a massive aluminum factory, the pics due no justice to the size of this place..

HOLY GAS PRICES!!! US dollar = about $60 Jamaican, so its actually way cheaper there..

Have it your way, even in Jamaica

Now, onto the cars…MAN there were some sweet rides. More Type-R’s than you could ever imagine..
The ONLY Civic coupe I saw down there, everything else was either a sedan or hatch

ITR with a custom paint job

Not sure what this is.. Almost looks likethe USDMAcura Legend

Another ITR

Accord Type-R, these things were everywhere, and they are stunning!

Rolled over Semi

Onto the Resort.. These are the villas, which were pretty nice, but the actual resort building in which we stayed was more conveniently located as far as bars and restaurants.

Here is where we stayed..

Oh and where are the rest of the pics of the cars

Well, not many of my car pics actually turned out. Riding in a bus, on the bumpiest road in the world, while the cars are hauling *** the opposite direction, kinda makes for blurry shots, haha.
As for the souvenir shops, they had all kinds of wood sculptures, t-shirts, and other random stuff. They also had some of Jamaica's finest....plants

Thats the biggestpost Iv ever seen! But the place you stayed at looks so nice. I like the dock that goes around. Some of the places in the begining look kinda creppy tho.
Great post! Musta been nice.
