Default Jon's Turbo Engine Build (pics) Update Nov 15

Well after 14 months of research I have decided to build for a turbo. I think the D16Z6 engine is the best set up for my situation as its pretty cheap and can yield some nice numbers. Ill also be in the process of upgrading the car to handle the power, its stock right now. So Ill be buying suspension, wheels/tires.

Platform: 1992 Civic Si Hatchback
Engine: D16Z6
Goal: around 300 whp
Means: F.I. & built motor

The engine in the car now is a Z6, but shes running under 90 psi in 2 cylinders and has 270,000 kms on it, so I have a 95 Civic Si Z6 block. I'm sure I could have used my block but it will make for an easy switch having a 2nd block and give me more time to work on the 2nd one.

The parts list youll just have to see as they come in : ) But I can say its going to be a fully built engine with new valve train, block internals and new turbo parts...

Here are a few parts I'm set on:

Hondata S200
Eaglerods
75mm Vitaras
GT28RS
ZEX 59300 camshaft

This is the car today, stock except for a short shifter and SRI.

Got my Vitaras yesterday 75mm stock bore

And Hastingsrings, rod bearings & main bearings

More to come...

Im going to put my own kit together, should be able to save money that way.

Ok well the block came in today with a new water pump and timing belt. Ill need to get it hot tanked and honed on friday if everything goes as planned.

I hate not being able to put anything together yet, these parts are just staring me down every time I go into the garage.

Well I went over to my sisters (she drives a 95 Civic Si with a D16Z6) after work yesterday and traded her valve covers cause hers says "VTEC" on it and myvc doesnt.

So I painted it up all nice like...you can see that white film on the dizzy and rad hose, my radiator is cracked and spraying water all over the place, looks like its time for an all aluminum!

Before

After

Well I didnt have time to take the block in to get it honed, so I'll have to do that on monday. But I did get my full Z6 gasket set in on friday.

Cat arm sold separately...

Well as some of you know, last weekend my car got busted into and my pistons/rings/block/bearings stolen. It was ****ty indeed. But, my dad gave me $620 to buy back the things that were stolen. So that was pretty cool.

Anyway, I got some parts today,

HKS catch tank

Blox LCA's

The rods should come in next week some time and Ill post the block build and stop putting up boring pics of these parts.

Cool beans.
