Finally got up off my butt and got some pics up of ym new shift boot that komodo1982 made for me. It was a nice tight fit and looks great!

The bracket that holds the boot in is pretty sharp. No mod is complete without a little bloodshed haha

Cars currently out of commission but I got a good use on the boot probably about 10k miles worht of shifting. One suggestion would be to seal/cap the top of the boot around the shifter. Mine began to fray after a few months of use.

 

When I made mine I got a bushing from Tractor supply and it fit perfect. I just zip tied the boot to the flange on the bushing. Its brass and looks great too. See:
