Nope, was started by two young kids. One named David Belle and the other Sebastien Foucan, it was all literalness a childs game that they played when they were little that developed into a discipline of fluidity and movement.

I practiced for well over 2 years and was one of the first members in the group known as the "Tribe." The Tribe is the elite parkour and stuntmen team in America, I stopped practicing a year and a half ago when I tore my rotator cuff out after jumping 15 feet to the ground and landing a bit sideways. I also left the Tribe around that time too, since then I fell into love with cars and have put that all behind me.

I'm uploading a few of my old movies now, should be able to post them later tonight... but as a little teaser.

My friends and I used to do this when I was like 16, only we called it "extreme walking". It was basically a joke, but we did jump some rooftops and I was one of the only kids who kid do flips because my calf muscles were rediciulously huge from non-stop hockey.

I probably could never do any of that stuff that requires a lot of upper body strength like hang sideways from a pole or launch myself just using my arms.
