Made a potato gun with a friend. This was the first one we made and have probably shot over 100 potatoes out of it. The farthest one we shot was about 250 yards. The threads on the cap fo this one are starting to melt so we are gonna make a bigger one and fit it to shoot golf ***** instead. The thing is loud when it echoes down the valley. Are you talking about how we put the fuel in or the loading of the potato?

propane and/or hairspray works a lot better than lighter fluid fumes

 

don't mean to take over your thread, but this is a potato gun. first video is us loading it, then the second one is use shooting it out the window, if you listen, you can hear a woman yelling "what was that?"

We just shove the potato in the barrel and push it down the rest of the way with a broomstick. We get potatoes that are big enough so there arent any gaps around it. Before we started using lighter fluid we were using starter fluid from a spray can. WE didnt want to use the hairspray because we heard it can gunk up the igniter. Propane is our plan for the next one though.
