wow, some parents amaze me. In 12-14 years, these same people are going to wonder why their sweet little girl is such a brat and keeps sneaking out of the house.

That is what is wrong with people now a days, parents don't punish their kids, when our parents were kids i can gaurantee if they acted out they would get a belt across their ***, when i was a kid it would be a belt (or wooden spoon in my case since i lived with my mom), now people aren't "aloud" to do that sort of thing so kids think they can get away with it. And the parents then say to themselves "where did i go wrong with that child"...

 

Tony, I would love to see any statistics linking the kind of behavior shown in the movie to the behavior you mentioned.

Times do change, and people start to realize that the first and major thing everybody (including kids)needs is unconditional love. Look inside yourself, and you understand I'm right. Punishment is not a substitute to the love. Being a father of three (and my older one is probably older than you), I absolutely disagree with your conclusion. The girl in the movie is enthusiastically exploring the world around her, and limiting her abilities to explorewould not do any good to her development and health...
