Well, took the Super D to the track tonight, and needless to say I was confident and excited. Well, all that came to a crashing halt...


One seriously bad day


First pass (which my stupid brother didn't tape) my damn sunroof flew off about half track and I lifted when there suddenly became a huge hole in my roof. I coasted through with a 15.8.

Second pass (the one in the vid), right after my burnout I thought something sounded funny. It was idleing weird at the line and it was hitting the what sounded like the rev limiter at ~ 5000rpm. Everytime it got up in rpm it spit and sputtered and just didn't feel like it was making power. Still had full boost, but I must have fried a plug or something. I dunno. I'm pissed. I'll get into it tomorrow. Obviously it was a very disappointing evening, and to pile it on, it's supposedto rain tonight. Guess I better find a tarp.

ps- I guess it could have been worse. I was rapping with this guy right before we started running. Nice engine bay, right? Not anymore. 150 shot of NAAAWWWSSS toasted it. Goodbye $8K build.

Yeah, it made me look like I was in slow motion (which I was), but I think it was in the low 11's.

Looked like the tahoe was attached to a slingshot when it launched, sucks to have a lot of things go wrong in one day though[:@]

 

yeah, I dont' know how you guys make it through the winter while your Civic's lay dormant. While yours are parked, the Super D just keeps morphing. Anyway, I started this whole thing just wanting to run 15 flat (see: HCF Challenge). I just want to get there and then we'll see if I can get it any lower. I have seen verysimilar setups in the mid to low 14's. Hell, there was a ragged out NA EF with a z6 running 14.5's all night. I just wanted to post this vid because we all have things go wrong. A lot of people wouldn't have posted a 15.8 video, but it's a process, and y'all know that.

 

i just watched the video and that sucks about your sunroof and having all the problems. i look forward to seeing what the turbo D can do when its all running good.
