The first time the piston travel (shinny part on the gas piston) broke in half. I got it welded back together and put it back on my car. This time the bolt that held the top part of the piston to the arm broke. Somehow it managed to stay in the piston so I could look at it. The thread on the bolt is striped to hell. I learned something about breaking lambo doors, everytime it happens, it happens when your pulling the door down to shut it and then the piston breaks so the door just freefalls (fast, it weights a lot) and then stops and the force bends the arm so if I fix it this time (VERY UNLIKELY) then I will have to have the arm bent back to the shape it is sopost to be because now it will not move up and down just left and right.

 

OEM FTW!!. i personally wouldn't trust those. aren't these the second ones that you got?

Dont even try to fix it because if you bend it back and dont heat treat it, its just gonna bend again. If you know someone that can heat treat it then you might want to try it, but other than that just trash them.

 

Fiirkan this is the same hinge I got it fixed the first time and it broke again.

Windcalmer, the armhas been bent back once from the first time it bent, It was fine after they bent it back so I'm assuming that they did heat treat it. It landed on me the first time it fell, hit me in the chest but didn't actually injure me, just hurt like hell. This time it didn't hit me but I wish it would have.

 

So uh... are you driving without a door?

Think it's time to go back to regular doors?

I have the door on but I can't open it because I put the stock hinges back on it but the holes are now striped and aren't strong enough to hold the top hinge so If you open the door it drops down a few inches and rubs up against my fender. I'm driving it around with no sideskirt so insted of ppl staring at my car because they have never seen lambo doors before they are staring at it like wtf it has steel 14" rims in the front and white 18" rims in the back, it doesn't have a side skirt, and the driver has to climb into his car through the passanger side...stupid ricer.

e-bay special....I wasn't a member of this forum and I knew nothing about cars when I got them and I didn't know that ebay stuff was junk. I thought, oh cool, $1,600 hinges for $500. COOL!!!
