IMO if the road noise is bothering you, turn up the volume
The reason the Ford gets owned so much more is because when it stops, there's a lot more inertia pushing a lot more mass, like mybrokenblinker said earlier. For a vehicle that size, it may have crappy crash-test ratings, but compared to another truck in its class, the pictures will be a lot more similar.
That picture is kind of like saying "The Desert Eagle .50 and the M9 9mm Beretta are both handguns, and both were fired at a plaster wall from the same distance. Compare the damage done!" It's just not a fair comparison.
