1996 Civic HX - Available late June '08
Location: Grand Forks, ND 58201. Won’t be available until late May-early June, but wanna give anyone interested a heads up well before I put it up on eBay:
1996 Civic HX VTEC-E, PS, PW, PM, MT, ~140,000 miles, interior mostly removed, exterior dinged/scratched, minor rust on corner of hood only (explained below), engine still okay but minor mods done to it. Still runs okay, but I will put a little work into it before selling (see below). Asking $2000. I have about 90% of the interior parts, but they are spray painted either black or blue/silver (explained below)
Parts Added:
AstroStart w/interactive remote only
Tint (20% front side windows / ??% back 3)
Firebolt Catback Exhaust (deep/loud, unfortunately)
Nology Plugs (blue)
Short Ram Intake (still have OEM air box, ready for reinstall)
Silver-Painted Engine Cover
HCF sticker (can be removed prior to sale)
“HX” back emblem removed (can be reinstalled upon request)
Parts I'm Going to Buy/Do Prior to Selling:
Carpet (battery fell over behind Driver side seat floor board)
B&M Short Shifter / OEM Shift ****
OEM Plugs (Buyer can keep Nology wires, if wanted)
Headunit
Speakers (front & back)
Battery
Clean up visible wires
Plug in Air Bag (removed for painting / Will have dealer check system)
Reinstall OEM Front Bumper
Reinstall OEM Headlights (OEM tails are reinstalled, chrome ones free if wanted)
2x12” subs (single enclosure), if wanted (can’t remember what brand)
Long Story:
Basically, I wanted to redo the interior completely. Did it in silver/blue cuz I was gonna repaint the car blue. Didn’t work out, so started repainting interior black but never completed it. Now I’m married and going to be moving cross-country soon, so we want to get rid of it. It’s become dead weight and just sits in our driveway, only being run about once every couple of weeks. I just don’t have the time or money to repair the interior back to original condition and hoping someone will take it off our hands. Kelly Blue Book had it for ~$2500 when put under the “Poor” category. I’ll tell you upfront that it was broken into in January 2005, then a minor fender bender in 2006 (scratches on bumper and an inch of a corner of the hood is bent and starting to rust). I have pictures of both incidents, available upon request. It was run pretty rough in 2006, and it’s been through numerous North Dakota winters…mostly sitting in a parking lot while I was deployed. We are working out the finances to get it ready to be sold and should be sellablebylate June. I just want to know if there’s anyone who would be willing to buy it, so I don’t waste anyone’s nor my own time. I’d be more than happy to answer any questions or to email more pics…I’ve got a ton of them. Thanks!

Sounds good. I don’t plan on installing any more interior…I plan on selling the car “as is” (other than the parts I have listed that I’m going to install). I have most of the interior still, but it’s painted all different colors, so it’s available to you no extra charge, if you want it, but I’m not going to be reinstalling it. I’ll see how much it’ll be to your location and get back to you.
