Looking for an am/fm cd player (not controller) for a 97 civic. Perferably stock. thanks

 

I don't think an am/fm cd radio came on 96-00 stock. They all came with an am/fm radio with the cd controller and the cd player either came as a single player on the bottom(right above and behind the cup holder) or as a 6 disc mounted elswhere. If you want all in 1 the only way to get that is aftermarket.

 

Apparently they made them for the Si. This on eis out of a '99 but it says it'll fit a '97 LX. And judging by the bids, it looks like you aren't the only one looking for one.

I guess they do make them, however I think they changed the dash slightly on 99-00 civics. That radio looks square like all aftermarkets and while it will fit in the same location as a stock 96-98 it will not look stock on our dash. My radio has rounded edges on the left side. Also the wiring might not be direct bolt on(not sure about this though). One thing I do know is my radio also has the alarm LED on it while the one on the picture doesn't look like it has it. I installed the factory alarm myself and it goes connected to the radio. I'd say research some more to be sure it is what you want(directed to the original poster).

 

the 96-98 is not completely square on the left side so the 99 wont be an exact fit.
