Default mild cam for d16y7 (better than stock

Hi all long time ,, i was the up north guy who cam to t.o for awhile and even was in the show at with yall near the skydome, we got club of the year.... yyeehhaaww. anyway im rebuilding my y7 and would like to add a mild to mid cam since everything internal is getting replaced.im very xcited, so if there is one for sale or u know were i can buy one plz let me know... thx or email me at troy-morr@hotmail.com.

pretty sure i looked at these stores and they have nada 4 the d16y7. other than maybe regrinds and im not sure thats what i want ,thx but any thing else?

ive never seen a cam for a y7 however if you swap cylinder heads and get a z6 or y8 head there are plenty of cam opions and you will gain v-tec

Most y7 cams are regrinds. that is just the way it is.

if you want a new billet cam you will need a vtec head.

ya not much out there i guess, i did see one for ale years ago, should have bought it then oh well. now ya cant just stick on a y8 head,, right? ya need ecu, dizzy, soleinode... umm anything im missing? so not as easy as a cam but, worth it fore sure, but my rebuild time is short cause im away at school ( auto tech) so have to rebiuld engine within 3 weeks so was hoping 4 the cam swap. any other info would be great thx all.

you can use your ecu but idk exactly how the whole swap is called a mini-me you do need a dizzy and solenoid and a head some headstuds and a y8 head gasket i cant think of anything else just search mini-me

ya found the write up, acouple good ones . seems i can use my y7 ecu,just have to run the right wires. which means the ecu has the software in it to run the vtech just didnt need to add the wiring caue the y7 head doesnt have the ends to connect to. plus i heard i will need a knock sensor and oil pressure sensor wire run to the ecu as well.
well since my block and heads are all getting redone by a machine shop, ill put this project on hold, but i will try to post the rebuild up on a site here. suppose to be piking up the block ,head, pistons and all the other goodies today to start reasembly. wish me luck.
