question about the s2k
a cousin of mine is plannign to get the 04 honda s2000, nice silver and its pretty clean. his concern is it getting stolen. i told him that i think s2000s arent "hot" cars liek civics, i dont know tell me what you guys think or have heard
S2Ks aren'tas hot to be stolen because the market for parts isn't as good. A car like a civic has very desirable parts since there are an *** load of people who need to buy civic parts. For this reason, thieves go after civics. They can easily chop up a civic and sell all the parts very easily and quickly. Since there aren't as many S2000s on the road, the parts won't be as easy to steal. Thieves don't really sell the entire car, they chop them up and sell the parts. The only way to sell the whole car is to ship it to another country (like S. American countries). With that bieng said, the S2000 is still an expensive car and I would think it would still be a target for thieves. You will have to worry about this kind of thing with any car in that price range. If your cousin buys the car, he needs to get full insurance for sure in case it gets stolen. Make sure he finds out what full insurance will cost him and if he can afford it. This is a HUGE problem in the motorcycle world. Bikes are just too easy to steal. If you ask people who ride about stolen bikes, they will just tell you to get good insurance. You can put all kinds of electronic gadgets to protect your car/motorcycle/etc, but if a thief wants your car, he will be able to get it.

How does that keep someone from towing your car away on a flatbed?

not if you have a fuel cut off switch.
not if you have a fuel cut off switch.
only when your car is paid off and there's no reason to repo it.... it's stealing.... it's a lot more common these days, rather than bust the window and steal it the old fashioned way, rig it up on a flatbed and just drive away...
most people won't question a car on a flatbed... but they will question a car driving around with a clearly busted window
very true, i at all havent heard of s2ks being stolen, i know civics and integras are one of the most stolen cars... the s2k is a nice car but i dont see what thieves can do with it besides selling the wheels...
