Default 17in. rims and tires problem

Hey guys/gals,

I am new here and this is my first post, so please forgive me if I have missed something. I recently got into modding my honda civic EX 1997 sedan, here are my specs:

TOKICO ILLUMINA Shocks and Springs (1.5in drop)
O.Z. Ultraleggera 17in. rims with 205/40-17 tires.

I just got Skunk2 Front and Rear Camber kit installed, and now I am having problems with the rear tires hitting the body which results in loud noises when I make a turn. Because of that I will have to replace those tires and get lower offset. I just placed an order of Falcon 215/35R-17XL tires and I was hoping if you could give me an insight if these new tires will work.

Thanks!

why didn't you go with 205/35 see you made the tire wider but shorter so it might be about the same with the new tires. where is it rubbing the inner fender or the fender..

im trying to remember what size i had (can't remember so long ago) did you talk to tire rack for fitment. I had my car slammed with coilovers and 17's with 40 series tires and never rubbed but i didn't have a camber kit but that should help because it would toe in and make it easier to rub. you should be ok does it rub when you have alot of people in the car..

No, it was rubbing when I was alone myself, it would be even worse if there are passengers sitting in the rear!Yes, I talked to them and they said it would install just fine and won't cause any issues.

BTW, do you think it will rub with the new tires (215/35)on when there are passengers sitting in the back?

its hard to say. see you are dropping the sidewall but u are making it wider which will make it a lil taller but not as tall as your old ones. just have to test it out...let us know either way though. i didn't have any problems when i had mine but i had 40 series and a crappy pair of coilovers slammed but they didn't give that much ride was crappy though but never rubbed

Just installed new tires 215/35/17 and they look and feel great, unfortunately, the tires still rub esp. the one on the right rear passenger side one. If I have passengers in the rear, I can barely drive the car forward! I really need some advise on this, from what i know I think I have two options: 1) Remove the rear camber kit completely and reinstall stock ones, and hope for the best, or 2) Adjust rear camber kit to negative degree adjustment (skunk2 comes with +- 3 degree of adjustment), and hopefully the car drives just like it used to before I got theseparts installed.

I must say though, pick up speed has improved significantly after I got new tires!

Thanks!

Shocks are very nice, major improvement over stock ones.
