i have 215s, and the rubbed also, so i took the inner rubbber peice off the edge, took a baseball batt and wedged it agest the tire and lip, and bent it out a lil. now i can even autocross with it and only get minor rubbing in the front. to fix this without the bending of the lip, you need to switch to 205s.

honestly, some lowering springs (good ones, not cheap ones) might help since they will be a lot stiffer, and it will give you better handling. do that and a set of good sway bars, and i think it will be a lot better. go with something like Tein, who doesnt give you a big drop, usually around an inch.

yeah i bet a rear sway bar now, would make my front not rub at all. so do that, springs, sway bar, and then go from there.

sacions has the right answer. stock springs give alot more then stiffer good springs. my friends rubbed with 17's back in the day and he had stock springs i traded him 16's for the 17's dropped it and no probs..

you went from a 40 series(side wall is 40% of the width) to a taller 45 series (45% of the width) so your overall diameter actually got taller. With all that weight from the stereo and a taller wheel... some worn out shocks are probably the cause. If your ride is really bouncie then replace the shocks and that will fix it. Other than that just go back to the stock wheel/tire diameter.

I put 18's on my 99 ctr with 215/35/ZR18 and they rubbed jus hitting a bump so i put some spring rubbers in the back and like you said it only rubs a little bit in hard cornering. jus make sure to leave the rubber strip on the edge so when it does rub it wont take chunks out of your tire but other than that it should be fine

A good idea check your rear trailing arm bushings!! they crack on Hondas alot. Had same problems and tire size that u did. Bought some prothane rear trailing arm bushings and problem was fixed. Also check up on a camber kit to tuck the rims under ur fenders if u have the space. If not ur gonna go through tires alot!!! hope it helps

the problem is your tire size with your drop i'm guessing...typically anyone with 6th gen civics that have 215/45/17 tires usually run into rubbing issues if you havent' rolled the fenders...how much did you drop your car?

Isn't that big than what your supposed to go. It's supposed to be 205/40/17.
