2004 SI Struts
My wife's car is in need of some struts/shocks. Just looking for some direction on what is usually needed in doing this job and what ones are a decent factory replacement. Genuine Honda parts are very pricy up here in northern Canada! Should I just get the shock part of the strut or are the springs necessary? The little bit of research I have done tells me the SI suspension is quite a bit different then all the other civic models. Rear wheels do seem to be tilted in at the top..... Sorry if my lingo is a little off on these parts, I am a truck guy with solid axles!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Typically all that's needed are new shocks, reuse the springs. I put KYB GR-2 on my SI and am happy with them. I also replaced the top spring bushings as mine were worn.
When you do the rears, especially in canada, expect your rear control arm bolts to be corroded to the bushings, causing them to snap when you try to loosen them. It is very common. Be ready to replace your control arms, or have new bushings pressed in after you have to torch out the old bolts.
