Default Adding PS to non-PS civ?

Can it be done? And can it be done cheaply? Asking cuz the hatch I'm gonna buy is the base model, no PS, power locks, or power windows.

No ideas guys? We can take it off, there's gotta be someone who knows how to jury-rig it to put one in, right? Maybe steal parts outta a different model?

Can it be done? Of course.

Cheaply? Probably not (depending on where you live, who you know, and all that crap.) You basically need the pump, lines, cooler, and the steering rack.

But I should let you know that a hatch without PS is hardly a chore to drive. I prefer them over ones with PS.

I suppose I'm just a weakling!!! No, I've just been driving my HX forever and PS is nice, and to jump into a non-PS car is just different. Gotta put more work into the same every day motions! I guess I'd get used to it though. I still want to see if I can...Just to do it. You think any EK w/PS would be interchangable?

i think kappa means ..yup-to all. the only hard part would be like a tight parking spot, all you need to remember is that if the car is moving the steering wheel will turn. and think on this, power steering can make a car more prone to swerving, alot of cars now, the faster you go the less power applied.. just dont try to crank your steering from one lock to the other without a little motion..

I was looking at adding power steering(PS) back to my B18 powered '94 EX coupe. I went to a speed shop and sight unseen they quoted me $800-1000 for the job. I'm guessing that would entail replacing/adding all of the parts that Kappa listed. I actually don't mind the lack of PS too much. It's just those moments in the parking lot when you need to make a sharp turn at low speed that are rough. I think if I had a hatch I wouldn't even consider adding PS to a non PS car.
