This is my first post. This site is awesome!!! Anyways, I need new brake pads on my fronts. My stock rotors are good. What type of pads are the best for good brake feel and good wear? I drive a 03 Civic Coupe Si - discs up front, drums in the rear.

 

me personally ceramic pads give a pretty good feel and they have a pretty good bite

 

AEM and hawk make pretty good pads.

I do live in Canada. And yes, WTF with the drums on an SI. I have been recommended by a mechanic to try graphite pads. Any thoughts on this?

 

loud and dirty. ceramic are nice because they are pretty quiet and really clean. I have carbon metallic pads on mine, and they are pretty quiet, but tear the hell out of the rotors, and really make the wheels dirty fast, though they bite really well. but my wifes car has ceramic pads, and they bite really well, are quiet, and the wheels stay a lot cleaner than mine.

civiccoupe03si in case you aren't aware we Canadians got screwed over with the SI's (well except for the 06's) but your SI is actually an American EX coupe, which is why you have drums in the back and not disks, we only got EX's in Sedans, and for some dumb reason they decided to rebadge the EX to an SI

so if i reacall correctly your engine is a D17A2 1.7 16V SOHC VTEC-II PGM-FI 1668 127hp@6300rpm 114tq@4800rpm not the K20 that came in the SI (or rather our SIR)
