Default brakes and steering question

how can i firm up the brakes and the steering in my civic? the brakes feel kinda soft. I just replaced the pads and rotors and the brake fluid is where its supposed to be. I figure its softer cuz its old. 107,000 mi. Anywho anyone have any suggestions?

not much really other than bleed the lines of air but if u dont have any air in the lines, it wontmake a difference.

Yeah, I agree with civicexracer. If the brakes feel spongy, it would be a good idea to bleed the system (picture 1).

Other items you might want to inspect are the brake pedal height adjustment (picture 2) and the self-adjusting mechanism (clevis A and B and adjuster bolt) in each rear drum brake (it must be able to rotate freely) (picture 3).

The pictures describe how to test for excessive play in your steering and, if so, how to adjust it.
